Crayola Creativitycast

Did you have a chance to join in on the Crayola Creativitycast last Tuesday night? The topic was Affordable Fun 101. There were some great ideas and tips shared. Some of them took me back to my childhood as people shared about pot holder looms and melting crayon shavings between wax paper. It gave me some great ideas to do with my kids.

With back to school just around the corner, Crayola wants to help you get ready with tips and creative ideas to make the back to school season less stressful and more fun! Starting July 28 and every Tuesday night (9 pm Eastern) through the month of August, Crayola is sponsoring "Girls Night Out" on Twitter - the mommy social gathering featuring colorful and engaging discussions on all things back-to-school. Crayola has teamed up with MomItForward.com, the creator of "Girls Night Out" (GNO), to bring you the "Crayola Creativitycast." The weekly Crayola Creativitycast will feature a new topic each week, to help you better prepare your kids for the best back to school ever. Tweet the night away with other moms, Crayola creativity experts, and noted mommy bloggers, and get great ideas to help you prepare for the best back to school ever for your kids!

This week's theme will be Back-to-School Basics.

Here's how it works:

Every Sunday through Tuesday, you can RSVP for the party by clicking on the RSVP post on MomItForward.com. There, you can include your Twitter URL in the link list and see the list of others that plan to participat in the GNO party on Twitter. (In the event that Mr. Linky is not showing up in the RSVP post, please leave your Twitter URLs in the comments, this will allow everyone to know who is participating and follow them.)

Visit http://momitforward.com each Monday for more information and a custom Tweet Grid for that week´s event.

On Tuesday nights, starting at 9pm Eastern, tweet using the hashtag #gno and chat away.

GNO participants will have the chance to win great prizes.

Schwan's Free Item

I just signed up for a free item at Schwan's. Schwan's is offering $10 of free food - one item.

We tried to order 2 pizzas first, but it was only taking off $4.99, so we tried again. The second time we chose the chicken patty nuggets. I figured they will be a quick lunch item for the kids on the weekends.

The free item, up to $10, will be delivered to your home for free. The event is open to the first 500,000 new customers today who live on a Schwan's delivery route.

CVS Deals - 7/31

I stopped by CVS today, in hopes of picking up one of those coupon booklets that I have read about. I was told by one pharmacy worker that the booklets weren't available until August 1st and that the coupons weren't good until August 2nd.

While at CVS, I checked out the clearance row.

1 - Jelly Belly Freezer Pops
2 - Super BlowPops

Total OOP $1.87. I love BlowPops, so that was a nice treat for me. The Jelly Belly Freezer Pops I was glad to get because they are only 35 calories per serving - which seems pretty reasonable to me for a treat for the kids.
