Kohl's - new online tool

Recently, I have been doing a lot more shopping online - both real shopping and "window" shopping. Don't get me wrong, I still love to go shopping, but time is not always on my side. Frequently, shopping means going out in the evening after the kids are in bed or trying to squeeze it in between activities. As such, even if I am going to shop, if I am heading out to get something for someone, I like to have a good idea in my head of what I am going to get.

Recently, Kohl's launched a tool in their toys department that will make browsing even easier. This new tool allows shoppers to browse toys based on age. It makes shopping for age appropriate gifts for your kids, cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren a whole lot easier!

Black Friday deals

Yes, I know that Black Friday was over a week ago, but I haven't had a chance to share what I consider to be the best of my deals with you yet. I'm pretty happy about the deals I got.

Kohl's

I bought two 5 piece sets of luggage that were "normally" $199.99, for $47.99. I had a 15% off coupon and I earned $10 Kohl's Cash for every $50 I spent. I picked up a Christmas outfit for me and for the kids as well, so the two luggage sets essentially netted me $20 in Kohl's Cash Total. I will be submitting each for a $10 rebate. Making it feel like I paid about $27.99 per set. In total, I saved $620.30 and spent $264.76 with tax. I earned $50 in Kohl's Cash. Not too shabby! A savings of 72%, when I include the Kohl's Cash.

JCPenney

I headed to JCPenney to look for a coat for me. I wound up buying four coats, 2 for me and one each for the kids, plus a pair of pajamas for Christmas. My two coats were regularly $200 and $180, and I got them for $49.88 and $39.88, respectively. For my son, the coat was regularly $79.9 and was on sale for $14.88! My daughter's coat wasn't as good of a deal, but not too bad - it was regularly $79.99 and it was on sale for $31.99. The pajamas were $13.99, down from $34.99. My total with tax was $160, with a savings of $424.35 on the day! A 73% savings!

I love that my total savings at these two stores was over $1000!

In addition, I stood in line at Staples and picked up two laptops for my husband. He needed them (wanted them?) and since I was out and they were a good deal, I waited in the cold and bought them. I also picked up some bowling shoes for my husband and a few gifts while I was out, some of which simply can't be shared because I don't want for others to read them.

Attention Kohl's Charge Customers

Did you look at all of the leaflets that came in your Kohl's bill this month? I normally have a tendency to just throw them all out without looking very closely at the ads included with my monthly statment. Boy, am I glad that I looked this month, one of the leaflets was a $10 off of $10 coupon for loyal Kohl's customers.

That is great. I have some Kohl's Cash from the last sale and a 15% off coupon, so I guess I will need to do some shopping for some free stuff!

Target Deals and more!

The kids and I had a very busy morning this morning.

Our first stop was Kohl's. I got some Christmas gifts - Sit'n Spin (on sale for $19.24 - $10 coupon), Potato Head (on sale for $5.49 - $2 coupon), Barbies (50% off sticker) all on a great deal. I also picked up a Halloween costume for next year. Not only did I save 15% off the sale prices, but I also got $10 in Kohl's cash for next year.

The next stop was Target. Here we had hoped to get some free Chex Mix, but they no longer carry the smaller bags at check-out. I hadn't brought in my regular coupons, so when I bought some bigger bags, I got a deal, but not as good of a deal as I could. They also raised the prices on Nut Clusters, from $2.34 to $2.50. Here's what I got:

The next stop was Edible Arrangements, where I picked up the free 6 pieces of chocolate dipped fruit from becoming a Fan on Facebook. They were all Strawberries. Not that I'm complaining, but I was hoping for some Pineapple or other fruits.

The next stop was Acme, where they were having a one day sale. I picked up 6 2-L of Pepsi products, 4 jars of Jif, 1 jar of Grape Jelly, 1 Whole Frozen Turkey Breast (5.75#), 3 bags of Lay's Potato Chips and Snuggle Dryer Sheets (80ct). My total was $22.83. The regular price on the turkey alone was over $13. My savings was 58%.

Our next stop was Barnes and Noble. We went there for the kids to get a free Hot Chocolate and Cookie. While there, they also got a bag of treats from a local radio station. Cost = $0.

Next up...a stop to the grocery, for some Trick or Treating and our groceries.
