Kmart Cereal Deal - 3/5

I don't often shop at Kmart, but I always scan their ad just to see what they are offering, because I am usually near one at least once a week. This week, I was excited to see a deal on Kellogg's cereal.

Here's what I got:

5 boxes Kellogg's Cereals
1 8ct box Kellogg's PopTarts

-$5 $5/$5 Kellogg's Cereal IP (was available a few weeks ago)
-FREE PopTarts wyb 4 Kellogg's Cereals Shop My Way Rewards offer

Total $5 OOP. The receipt says that I saved $10.64.

Does anyone know if the free PopTarts deal is a limit of one? With the new $4/4 coupon that is available, I could go back and get 4 boxes of cereal and PopTarts for only $4 OOP.

Kmart Deals

Currently, Kmart is offering a 10% discount on all food, health and beauty purchases to their Rewards members. I have been working on cleaning out the freezer, so since I was going to pass by my nearest Super K as I was out running errands today, I decided to stop by and pick some things up.

3 - Nestle Morsels
1 - Bisquick Mix
1 - Morton Sea Salt
2 - loaves Bread
1 - Arizona Tea, drink sticks (for my husband to try)
3 - bananas
1 - Peach Rings, bulk candy
1/2# - Turkey, luncheon meat
16 - packages of Jennie-O Turkey - ground, sausage, Easy Meals
3 - Whipping Cream
1 - Better'n Eggs
1 - Beau Monde seasoning
3 - packages Chicken Patties
1 - 20 oz Coke
1 - loaf Bread

-$8.80 10% Rewards discount
-$1.25 $1.25/3 Nestle chips coupon
-$.50 Bisquick mfg coupon
-$51 17x$3 Jennie-O mfg coupon (free turkey!)

Total $26.50 OOP. Not bad for enough meat to provide the protein at about 30 meals, plus some stuff I needed for baking. The third loaf of bread and the Coke were actually in a second transaction, I got register coupons for both free! If I had known I would get free bread, I wouldn't have bought two at the beginning, but since the store is about 45 minutes away, I figured I should redeem it while I was there.

Retail Therapy

I'm not sure what it was about today, but I did a lot of shopping. Some with the whole family, some with just my daughter and some on my own.

We started our trip at Kohl's. We had a $10 on $10 coupon that a friend had given us and a 20% off catalog. We wound up with a pair of shoes and a shirt for my son, a dress and a pair of shorts for my daughter, and 4 shirts for my husband.

We made a few other stops, including lunch at Steak 'n Shake, where we spent only $13.50, because the kids eat free on the weekend.

CVS
After dropping off my husband and son, my daughter and I headed to CVS.

4 - Glade Sense and Spray refill
2 - Coppertone Spray Sunscreen

-$1/2 Glade Sense and Spray refill mfg coupon
-$1/2 Glade Sense and Spray refill mfg coupon

-$1 Coppertone IP
-$1 Coppertone IP

Paid with $21 in ECBs (including a $5 ECB I had gotten for completing a CVS advisor survey) and $5.14 OOP ($1.66 was tax). I earned $5 and $10 ECBs. Of course, I came home and found a $2 Coppertone IP that I had printed earlier and didn't find when I was looking. Oh well!

Rite Aid

Our next stop was Rite Aid. Luckily before leaving, I had checked out the video value coupons and watched the one for Clearasil and I got a $3 coupon.

1 - Lubriderm (had to get the big one, not free but still a good price)
1 - Clearasil Foaming Face Wash
1 - Rite Aid Kids Toothbrush, 2 pack
1 - Jergens Natural Glow Lotion
1 - Blink Tears

-$5 $5/$25 Rite Aid coupon
-$3 Lubriderm in ad coupon
-$2 Lubriderm IP

-$1 Clearasil mfg coupon
-$2 Jergens Natural Glow mfg coupon
-$2 Blink Tears IP

Total $9.86 ($1.21 was tax). I will submit for the $7.99 Blink SCR at the end of the month, for a net cost of $1.87 for everything.

K-Mart

Next we drove to Kmart to take advantage of the Super Double Coupons and to get some Turkey! Unfortunately, I failed to read some coupons and had to put some stuff back because they were do not double and without doubling, it just didn't make sense. Also, the chest freezer where the Jennie-O Turkey is normally sold was completely empty. I asked about the unseasoned breast meat and the worker couldn't find any. He was able to find me some of the ground turkey, so I picked up some of that as well as a few other things.
(dairy and frozen were already put away)

10 - Jennie-O turkey items - ground, tenderloin, bacon, deli and So Easy meal
1 - Jergens Natural Glow facial moisturizer

1 - Taco Bell Sauce

2 - Ritz Bitz
1 - Digiorno Deep Dish
1 - Red Baron Deep Dish
1 - Tornados
1 - Loaf Wonder Whole Grain White

Total $33.43, paid on a gift card I had received for free. Saved $68.79 (or about 70%).

We stopped home to drop off all of our frozen items and headed out to pick up pizza for dinner (not a stellar eating day, but it was easy!) and a quick stop at a grocery store.

Acme
Acme frequently features 2 day sales on the weekend. This weekend, they were having a special on Capri Sun 2/$3, since we like to freeze these and tuck them in our bag when we go to the park or a game, I couldn't pass up this sale. They also have their Berry Bonanza going on with all the berries at $1.48/pkg.

2 - Capri Sun (10pk)
5 - packs of assorted Berries
4 - bananas
1 - gallon milk
1 - 12pk Sunkist
1 - Powerade

Total $16.27 OOP.

After the kids were in bed and I realized that it was a day later than I thought, I headed out to use some coupons that were going to expire today.

Target
Target didn't have the wipes I was looking for, but I had some Target coupons that were expiring, so I picked up some deals.

-$.50 Target Wet Ones coupon

Total 19.27 ($10 was the hamper), paid on two free gift cards. I'll also submit the BandAid/Neosporin for a free first aid kit (with $15 in coupons).

Giant Eagle

I headed to Giant Eagle to pick up some groceries, after all of the shopping today, I didn't want to think about going out tomorrow. I picked up yogurt for me (3 Greek yogurts) and for the kids (2 - 6pk Trix), burrito and soft taco shells, enchilada sauce and taco seasoning, lettuce, tomatoes, pablano peppers, and grapes, wipes, Snuggle dryer sheets, 2 tubes kids toothpaste, My total was $17.97 with a savings of $15.46 or 46% savings. I put $7.30 on a gift card and the remaining $10.67 OOP.

Walmart

Since I couldn't find the Huggies Pull-ups wipes anywhere and my coupons expired today, I headed out to Walmart before going home.

4 - Huggies Pull-Ups Wipes
3 - Pampers Wipes (for a friend)
1 - Welch's White Grape Juice
2 - Silly Bandz (some other brand, but those shaped rubber bands)
1 - Johnson's Safety Swabs

-$4 4x$1 Pull-Ups Wipes mfg coupon
-$6 3x$2 Pampers Wipes mfg coupon
-$1 Welch's 100% Juice IP

It was a busy day for me. Aside from Kohl's and lunch, I spent $50.08 OOP (plus $60 on gift cards) for everything and saved $181.12 with coupons and sales. Not too bad. So, for only $50.08 cash OOP, I got $291.20 worth of product (83% savings). I will also be submitting for a $7.99 SCR and a free first aid kit with $15 in coupons, further increasing my savings.

Kmart Deals - 5/16

In reviewing my ads last week, I noticed that Kmart was having a deal on Jennie-O Turkey again, so I new it was a good opportunity for me to pick up some more turkey (as part of my year's supply of Jennie-O Turkey prize).

I combined the trip to Super Kmart with a trip to Portrait Innovations to get 3 1/2 year old pictures of my daughter. She had a lot of fun and even pulled me into a few pictures. Of course, we got more pictures than we intended - I think that's why they take so many. It's difficult to not choose more than just the one for the portrait package special. We got the package of her, a set of sheets with her and I and an extra special picture for her. She had to have the one of her with the big fake flower. It's one of those pictures that always turns out cute, but never the one that I want to get a full set of pictures of. She had her heart set on it, so I got one sheet and will put it in her room.

But, I digress...

I asked in the meat department about the unseasoned breast meat and the oven ready line. They told me to call back during the week and talk to the manager to see if it is in their catalog. Evidently, if it is, they might be willing to order it for me. I sure hope so, I would like some additional variety. It seems that we are mostly eating the ground turkey and turkey burgers these days. Of course, I had every intention of calling this week, but it just never happened - so it is on my list for next week now.

Here's what I got: (normally there would be a picture here, but it got deleted)

3 pkg 20oz 93% Lean Ground Turkey
2 pkg 4 Seasoned Turkey Burgers
1 So Easy Turkey Meatloaf
1 So Easy Turkey Salisbury
1 So Easy Turkey Southwest Style
1# Turkey Bacon
1 Turkey Sausage Patties
1 pkg of 12 1/4# Turkey Burgers
1/2# Turkey Breast from the deli
1 Old El Paso Enchilada Sauce
1 Taco Bell Taco Seasoning
1 Old El Paso Taco Seasoning

-$5 $5/$25 Kmart register receipt coupon
-$.60 $.60 on two Old El Paso products
-$36 12 x $3 Jennie O Turkey Mfg coupon

Total $1.93 OOP. Not bad for 15 meals worth of turkey!

Kmart Super Double Deals - 10/3

Well, with just two hours remaining to take advantage of Super Doubles at Kmart, my friend and I headed out. I wouldn't say I was very prepared, but I still did pretty good.

Here's what I got:
1 - Starbucks Coffee Frappuccino coffee drink $2.39 - $1 - $1 = $.39
3 - V05 Shampoo/Conditioner $3 - $1 - $1 = $1 / 3
1 - Visine Allergy $3.99 - $2 - $1.99 = FREE
1 - Bumble Bee Tuna $1.29 - $1 - $.29 = FREE
1 - Bumble Bee Tuna $1.29 - $1 - $.29 = FREE
1 - Bumble Bee Tuna $1.29 - $.55 - $.55 = $.19
2 - Ziploc Quart Size Freezer Bag $4 - $2(BOGO) - $2 = FREE
2 - Ziploc Quart Size Freezer Bag $4 - $2(BOGO) - $2 = FREE
2 - Hershey Bliss Bars $1.33 - $.67(BOGO) - $.67 = FREE
1 - Whiskas Purrfectly with Chicken 2.7# $4.99 - $2 - $2 = $.99
1 - Healthful Cat 1# $1.99 - $1.50 - $.49 = FREE
2 - Friskies Indoor Wet Cat food $1.58 - $.79(BOGO) - $.79 = FREE

Total $2.57 ($3.52 with tax). I saved $28.58 with coupons, a total of 92% saved.

WooHoo! I actually had planned to go to the nearest Super Kmart, but when I called they told me that they were participating in double coupons, but only P&G. The Kmart I went to told us there was no limit to the number of coupons this time. This was also the first time I used BOGO coupons and just like I had read on line if the BOGO coupon was for $2 or less, it doubled the value making both items free. I was nervous or I would have dug around looking for more of those coupons.

Kmart Super Double Deals

First, let me say that I don't feel like Kmart restocked since their last super double deal. I felt like many of the coupons I had set aside after the last event because there were none on shelf, simply still were not on shelf. That aside, I did really good. I did learn that you can only use on of the Kmart "free when you buy" coupons available here. The batteries were the most expensive item, so I went with them for this trip and get one of the others if I venture back.

Here's what I got:
(item, price, coupon, doubled amount, final cost)
Sharpie Highlighters $1.49 -$1 -$.49 = FREE
2-Speedstick Deodorant $2.50ea -$1.50 -$1 = FREE
All Bran Lemonade Drink Mix $5.25 -$2 -$2 = $1.25
Lysol Neutra Air $2.67 -$1.50 -$1.17 = FREE
Nature's Source Cleaner $2 -$1 -$1 = FREE
2-Trident Gums $2/2 -$1/2 -$1 = FREE
Hellman's Mayonnaise $3.49 -$1 -$1 = $1.49
2-Chinet Plates $4.49ea -$2 -$2 = $.49each
2-Chinet Side Plates $2.85ea -$2.85 = FREE (peelie on plates for free side plates with purchase)
Diehard AAA 4-pk $3.79 -$3.79 = FREE (free when you buy Kmart coupon)
-$3.79 (okay, I honestly don't know what happened here, somehow I was credited twice for the Diehard batteries coupon or the cashier removed them from the order. I didn't figure out how I was below my expected total until I was putting together this post and I'm not sure whether she took it off or the coupon doubled?)

Total $1.30 - of which $1.37 was tax???

I checked out at customer service. When she gave me my total of $1.30, I said, "Really? I expected for it to be closer to $5 ($3.72 plus tax)." She said, "no $1.30, that's really great."

So, I wound up essentially getting everything for less than the tax. Does that make my savings 100%? Even if you consider that my pre-tax total for everything would have been $39.37 and my OOP was $1.30, that is a savings of 97%.

Kmart Super Doubles are BACK! (for last time?)

From what I was just reading over at Saving Cents with Sense, the Kmart Super Double event this coming week is going to be the last one for the year. I definitely will get organized for this one. I may even try to go to the super center a few towns over.

Kmart has a list of participating lcoations here or you can reference your local ad.

As with the more recent events, limit is 10 coupons per day and your order needs to total $25 before coupons.

For a great list of coupon match-ups, check out the list at My Frugal Adventures.

Kmart Deals - 8/16

I went out on Sunday, because my week is so full, I wasn't sure that I would make it out another day. It seems pretty obvious, since it took me this long to post it that I wouldn't have likely made it since then.

Here is what I got:
Noxzema Cleansing Pads $4.50 - $1 - $1 = $2.50 (I thought it was lower price, read wrong shelf tag, probably would have skipped)
3M Hightlighter with Post it Flags $1.29 - $1 - $.29 = FREE (clearance item)
3 - Pert for Men $2.50 - $1.50 - $1 = FREE (all three)
2 - Renuzit Pearl Scents $2.50 - $2 - $.50 = FREE (both)
Arm & Hammer Essentials Refill 2pk $1.79 - $1 - $.79 = FREE
4 - Hunt's Snack Pack $4 - $1 - $1 = $2 (for four - was I the only one that initially read this coupon differently, it took me a while to realize I had to get four packs, not a four pack to get the $1 savings from the printables a few weeks ago).

Total $4.50 (+tax). Saved $26.89 with sales and coupons, $19.58 in just coupons. That amounts to 85% savings (82% with coupons only). Of course, it would have been better if I had realized price of Noxzema and skipped, but I can't complain - I got all of this for under $5!

While I was there, I also checked out some clearance items. I got a pair of shorts and a t-shirt for my daughter, a pair of swimtrunks for my son and a pillowcase for my daughter for only $11.50. I'm happy with that.

Kmart Super Double Deals - 7/11

Well, after my first trip to Kmart, I decided that some of the deals were worth repeating, so I headed back again today. I opted to skip Super K because I wasn't sure I could find enough different there to justify the drive.

Visine $3.99 - $2 - $1.99 = $0
Visine $3.99 - $2 - $1.99 = $0
Sparkle 3pk Paper Towel & Angel Soft 4ct Toilet Paper $4.78 - $2 - $2 = $.78
Sparkle 3pk Paper Towel & Angel Soft 4ct Toilet Paper $4.78 - $2 - $2 = $.78
Sparkle 3pk Paper Towel & Angel Soft 4ct Toilet Paper $4.78 - $2 - $2 = $.78
DelMonte Strawberry Chiller $2.99 - $1 - $1 = $.99
Bumble Bee Albacore Tuna Pouch $1.99 - $1 - $.99 = $0
Bumble Bee Albacore Tuna Pouch $1.99 - $1 - $.99 = $0
4 Boxes General Mills Cereals $6 - $1/2 - $1 - $1/2 - $1 = $2

Total $5.33 (plus .81 tax), for $35.29 in product. My savings was $29.96, 85%.

Kmart Super Double Deals - 7/10

Well, I finally made it to Kmart on Friday. We had been traveling so I didn't have much chance to plan, but I think I did pretty well.

Dentek Floss Picks $2.19 - $1 - $1 = $.19
Visine $3.99 - $2 - $1.99 = $0
J&J Baby Swabs $1.59 - $.75 - $.75 = $.09
Sparkle 3pk Paper Towel & Angel Soft 4ct Toilet Paper $4.78 - $2 - $2 = $.78
Sparkle 3pk Paper Towel & Angel Soft 4ct Toilet Paper $4.78 - $2 - $2 = $.78
DelMonte Raspberry Chiller $2.99 - $1 - $1 = $.99
2 cans Pringles $3 - $1 - $1 = $1
Oreo Cakesters $3 - $1 - $1 = $1
Bumble Bee Albacore Tuna Pouch $1.99 - $1 - $.99 = $0
Ring Pop $.79 (for the shopping assistant)

Total $5.62 (plus .63 tax), for $30.88 in product. My savings was $25.26, 82%. Now, if you exclude the ring pop for my shopping assistant, it would have been $25.26 in savings still but for $30.09 worth of product, or 84%. A small price to pay for cooperation while shopping.

I am thinking that I might try to go back tomorrow and repeat the Sparkle and Angel Soft deal as well as a few others. I'm just concerned with making sure that I reach the $25 before coupon total at my Big K. Not sure that I have enough time to make it to the Super K in one of the neighboring communities.

Kmart Super Doubles are BACK!

Kmart Super Doubles are back in many areas again next week. They've introduced some additional rules this time around. They are doubling manufacturer coupons up to $2. The coupon limit is still 10 / customer / day. Limit of 4 of an item with coupon. The new rule this time is that your pre-coupon grocery/drugstore order must be greater than $25.

You can head over to Kmart.com to look at your local ad and determine if your store is participating.

I'm wondering, the last widespread super doubles was the first full week of June and this one is the first full week of July...are they making this a regular monthly event?

Common Sense with Money generally has a pretty good list of coupon match-ups for this event.

Kmart Super Double Deals - 6/7

On Sunday, I headed to Kmart to pick up some deals with Super Double Deals. I had more than 10 coupons, so when I got to check out, I told the clerk that if it was okay, my daughter would be doing the second transaction. She said that was fine.

Transaction #1
J&J Safety Swabs $1.59 - $1 - $.59 = $0
J&J Safety Swabs $1.59 - $1 - $.59 = $0

Kraft Velveeta Shells & Cheese $2.29 - $1 - $1 = $.29

Kraft Velveeta Shells & Cheese $2.29 - $1 - $1 = $.29
Kraft Barbecue Sauce $1 - $1 = $0

3 - Jello Pudding $2.97 - $1 - $1 = $.97 / 3
Reach Kids' Multipack $2.79 - $1 - $1 = $.79

Total $4.60 OOP for $34.25 worth of goods. Savings of 87%.

Transaction #2

Energizer Rechargeable Batteries $11.99 - $1 - $1 = $9.99
2 - Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaners $4.58 - $1 - $1 = $2.58 / 2

(There was a BOGO coupon on the bottle and it scanned as well as the $1 coupon)
2 - Del Monte Strawberry Chillers $3.98 - $1 - $1 = $1.98 / 2

Total $17.88 OOP for $29.87 worth of goods. Savings of 40%. This transaction didn't really work as planned. Excluding the expensive batteries, the savings would have been 56%.

Then, I realized that my first transaction generated a $1 on your next shopping trip. They couldn't apply it retroactive, so I headed back in to get a few more things.

Transaction #3
Dora Toddler Underwear $4.99 - $1 OYNO - $1 (surprised it doubled) = $2.99
Visine $3.99 - $2 - $1.99 = $0
J&J Safety Swabs $1.59 - $1 - $.59 = $0

Total $3.45 OOP for $11.03 worth of goods. Savings of 69%.

Total trip $25.93 OOP for $75.15 worth of goods. Total savings of 65%. (without batteries, would have been $15.94 OOP for 63.16 worth of goods, savings of 75%)

Overall, I was pleased with the results.

Kmart Super Doubles are BACK!

I am happy to report that Super Doubles are coming back to many locations next week (including the store local to me!). And, unlike last time we had doubles offer locally, where the limit was 75 cents, they are doubling up to $2 again.

As per usual, it is participating stores only. You may only purchase 4 of the same item using double coupons. Limit 10 coupons per customer per day. The disclaimer no longer seems to exclude Internet printable coupons. In fact you can go here and print Internet coupons right on Kmart.com.

To find out if your store is a participating location. Go to kmart.com and enter your zip code to see your local ad. The front page of the ad for the sale starting Sunday will tell you if the store is participating. You can also sign up for e-mail specials and get a $5 off of $50 coupon.

Kmart Super Double Deals - 4/19

I decided to head out to the Super Kmart today to take advantage of the super double coupon deals. We have a Kmart in town, but they are only a Big K and their selection is very limited. I might stop in there later this week to check on a few other deals, as I was somewhat disorganized this morning and think there are some other deals that would be worth my while.

Of course, if I had planned better (or at least kept track better, I would have found another $8 worth of things I had coupons for so that I could have used my $5/$50 coupon.

Here is what I got:

Goodlife Cat Food $4.99 - $2 - $2 = 99¢
Oust Air and Surface Sanitizer $3.79 - $2 - $1.79 = FREE
Meow Mix Wholesome Goodness Cat food $2.10/3 - $1 - $1 = 10¢/3
Trident 3pk $2.89 - $1 - $1 = 89¢
Trident Xtra Care $1.49 - $.75 - .74 = FREE
Kraft Caesar Dressing $3.29 - $1.50 - $1.50 = 29¢
Quaker Quakes 1.99 - $1 - $.99 = FREE
Hormel Compleats 2.79 - $1 - $1 = 79¢
Pineapple Tidbits $2.97/3 - $1 - $1 = 97¢/3
Oreo Funsticks $3 - $1 - $1 = $1
V8 Juice 46oz can $2.49 - $1 - $1 = 49¢
Spaghettios with meatballs $1 = $1
Celestial Seasonings Madagascar Vanilla Red $2.99 - $.55 - $.55 = $1.89
Velveeta 2# Loaf $4.49 - $1 - $1 = $2.49

Total after coupons $11.37. Saved $30.24 or 73% savings.

I bought the Spaghettios for my shopping assistants because they felt they needed them, even with no coupon. I know I said it before, but I wish I had been better prepared and could have found $8 more to buy. They had General Mills Cereals for $2 each, I had some 55¢ and 75¢ coupons but skipped them. If I had bought 4 with 55¢ coupons, then I would have saved $9.40 on $8 worth of cereals...or could have spent only $10 out of pocket with $40 in savings. Next time I will keep better track so I could fill my cart with better than free items.

Check out the deals that others are getting over at Deal Seeking Mom.

Kmart Super Doubles

In many areas, Kmart will be having Super Double Coupons next week.

"Participating stores only. Amount of credit from doubling a coupon cannot exceed the current retail price of a single item. No cash or in-store purchase credit will be awarded for any amount exceeding the retail price of the item. Limit 1 coupon for each item purchased. Only 1 coupon will be doubled per item. You may only purchase 4 of the same item using double coupons. Buy One, Get One offers, Kmart Savings coupons and Kmart Store coupons are excluded from this promotion. Coupons do not apply to sales tax. Limit 25 coupons per customer per day."

The disclaimer no longer seems to exclude Internet printable coupons. I will probably call ahead to confirm with my store. Certainly don't want to plan for them if my local store won't take them.

To find out if your store is a participating location. Go to kmart.com and enter your zip code to see your local ad. The front page of the ad for the sale starting tomorrow will tell you if the store is participating. You can also sign up for e-mail specials and get a $5 off of $50 coupon.

For a list of coupon pairings, check out Common Sense with Money's coupon match post.

Shopping Deals - Kmart and Giant Eagle

As I sorted through my coupons on Sunday, I realized that I had some coupons that would be expiring that I would like to use. As I indicated, my Kmart is not a Super Kmart, so their grocery selections are more limited, so I decided to split my shopping between Kmart and Giant Eagle, which doubles coupons up to 99 cents.

Kmart
1 - Colgate Kids Toothbrush

K-mart Super Doubles

The K-mart in my area is participating in the Super Double coupons deal this week. I have a number of high value coupons, some that expire today, so I think I might try to make it over to K-mart to take advantage of some deals. I am somewhat limited since my store only has a pantry and not a full grocery, but I am hoping to take advantage of some of these deals. You can review the KMart Super Doubles Price Book at Hot Coupon World for some other coupon matches.

K-mart Super Double Deals - 10/26

I headed to the Super K a town over this morning in what is one of the quickest bargain shopping trips I have taken. The children weren't very helpful in getting out of the door, so we only had about 45 minutes to shop. Not good, especially since I never shop at the Super K. I had visited the Big K in our town for the last sale and they just didn't have quite the selection that I had hoped they might in the "pantry" section. So, even with the time crunch, I was able to get $74 in groceries for only $22, a 70% savings. Not too bad...had I skipped the Pull-Ups, which accounted for almost 1/3 of my out of pocket after coupon, I would have had a better savings amount (would have been 77%). I don't need them yet, but with a $2 coupon, it was hard to pass up getting $4 off.

Here's what I got:
2 - Loreal true match blush
1 - Huggies Pull-up Jumbo
1 - Glade Carpet & Room Odor Eliminator
1 - Trident Chill
1 - Hershey Cocoa Reserve Dark Chocolate
2 - Kashi Go Lean Crunch
1 - Progresso Chicken Broth
1 - Malt O Meal cereal
1 - Healthy Choice Fresh Mixer
1 - Jif
1 - Simply Jif
1 - Starkist Creations
1 - Ore Ida Steam n Mash
1 - Yo Plus yogurt
1 - Eskimo Snacks
1 - Smithfield Pork Chops
2 - Bananas (snacks for the munchkins)
1 - Del Monte Grapefruit Cup

I used $41.47 in coupons with doubling and there was $10.49 savings for the Loreal which was on a BOGO sale. So, I saved $51.96 and spent $22.01 (70% savings).

K-mart Deals 10/3 - Super Double Coupons

The family made a trip to K-mart tonight to take advantage of the Super Double Coupons promotion that they are running this weekend. We did okay. It was a regular K-mart, so the grocery items were more limited in selection. I probably would have saved more/spent more if we had made it to a Super K.

We bought $6 worth of stuff that we didn't have coupons for, so that skewed the numbers slightly, but here is a summary of what we got:

Goodlife Cat Food
Cascade Complete Dishwasher Gel
Glade Room and Carpet Freshener
Fiber One bars
5 boxes of General Mills Cereals
2 Easy Macs single cups
Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste
2 Colgate 360 Toothbrushes
Airborne
Pencils
Hot Fries
2 Hormel Compleats

The total before coupons was $52.09 for 19 items. After coupons, it was $21.09. I saved 60% with coupons. If you exclude the last three line items that we got on sale, but not with coupon, it would have been 67% savings.

I had a $5/$50 coupon, but it was only good at Super K locations. That would have been great if we could have used it.

The cereal represented just over 40% of the OOP, but we needed some cereal.

True to K-mart, there was only one register open, but the customer service desk was helping check out people.

I will see what the coupons and ad look like on Sunday and maybe make a trip back.

Super Doubles at Kmart

It looks like it has come to my area. In my mailbox yesterday, amidst my other fliers, was one for Kmart advertising their Super Double coupons. I still need to confirm if this is all stores in my area or only at the Super Kmart.

The way I understand it, your coupons, up to $2 will be doubled (that would be $4 off!!), you can use up to 4 of the same coupon, 1 coupon per item and 75 coupons per day. I'm not currently a Kmart shopper, but this deal will pull me into the store to help me maximize my $$. Internet coupons (and, duh! copies of manufacturers coupons) are not accepted.

The offer runs from October 1 - October 5, so you can shop this week's ad and next week's ad as well.

You can see some free and nearly free deals after coupon over at this post at Common Sense with Money.
