Well, it feels official...Fall has settled in. Sure it was 90 a couple of days last week, but now there is that chill in the house. I closed a few more windows, not quite ready to consider if I need to put on the heat, but wanting to make sure that the chill doesn't take over the house. It makes me ready to return to soups and chilis and roasts and other warm the kitchen and the belly type foods, but unfortunately a busy week does not lend itself well to those type of meals...so I will consider them for Saturday or next week.
French Bread Pizza (we bought bread in the interest of time, but I like to use my homemade French bread)
Pork Chops and Mashed Potatoes
Chipotle Chicken and Chocolate Swirl Cheesecake (modeled after my pumpkin swirl cheesecake) - for the birthday boy, my husband
Pierogies and Eggs
Braised Short Ribs (had this out last week and really want to try it at home, Saturday feels like a good day)
During the week, breakfast is usually a bowl of cereal or oatmeal. Lunches are either the hot lunch from school or packed lunches for the kids. My husband and I have leftovers, frozen meals or sandwiches.
