Menu Plan Monday

I went shopping everywhere! on Saturday this weekend. As I mentioned in this post, I went to Target, Kohl's and Acme to get some deals. I then went to Buehler's to get groceries for the week and to let the kids trick or treat at the grocery. On the way home, I realized I forgot bread, so I headed back out! to Giant Eagle once the kids were in bed. Since they double coupons, I decided to pick up a few deals - a lot of yogurt and ice cream.

I decided to go ahead and make the Turkey Breast I had bought at Acme on Saturday for Sunday's meal. Then, I decided to get mileage out of it. After roasting it and carving it on Sunday, I took the carcass and put it in a pot of water and made some Turkey Stock. I had never done this before, but it worked very well. I used only the meat that I cleaned off the carcass to add to the soup...I was amazed at how much was left on the carcass after I had cleaned it. So, we will have straight up Turkey one night for dinner and will have pot pie another night. I like that although it was a cook once, eat four times, each meal is unique and so we shouldn't tire of the turkey. I definitely will make Turkey Noodle Soup again next time I roast a turkey.

At our house, the focus is on dinners. I tend to only list the main course and any standard side we have with it. We do still have vegetables and/or fruit with each of our dinners, I just don't always call them out.

Sunday
Cereal
Turkey, Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans
Turkey Noodle Soup

Monday
Leftover turkey, side of Pastina

Tuesday
Leftover Pot Pie

Wednesday

Thursday

Friday

Weekdays breakfast is at daycare for my daughter, the rest of us eat cold cereal, frozen waffles, oatmeal, toast or whatever strikes our fancy. Lunch we pack, usually leftovers for me.
